Job Title: Director of Coaching
Job Duties: Acton Boxborough Youth Soccer, Inc. ("ABYS”) seeks a Director of Coaching for our Acton, Massachusetts office. The Director of Coaching is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ABYS's coach and player development programs as well as establishing and implementing new initiatives. This position works under the direction of ABYS's executive committee through the President or their delegate. This position identifies, recruits, selects and directs the ABYS's professional coaching staff, interfaces with coaching organizations to secure professional coaching services, develops and trains ABYS's volunteer coaching staff to better develop player talent, develops and runs a wide variety of revenue generating programs including academies, clinics, tournaments, and futsal programs, runs existing programs such as ABYS's Kindergarten (Kinders) program and Strikers United program, and assists with organizing and participates with in funfests for our in-house and recreational program players. This position coordinates coaches clinics for travel and recreational coaches, oversees and develops players through scheduled practices, clinics, academies, and futsal programs, creates an atmosphere that results in the continuous development of players and coaches, and ensures that player evaluations are provided once per year by coaches. This position serves as a resource person for soccer issues and trends, creates and maintains up to date and relevant information (educational documents and online assistance through the ABYS's web portal), coordinates and direct spring travel tryout by working with division directors and steering committee to select teams/players, and attends and gives reports at ABYS’s monthly Board of Directors meetings. This position delivers educational seminars, classes and courses throughout the ABYS's community, and is responsible for facility and equipment management as well as managing vendor and provider relationships.
High School Diploma or the equivalent
Four (4) years of experience performing the above described duties
USSF License (A, B, or C), the equivalent NSCAA license or the European equivalent
A thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of the game of soccer, including a comprehensive knowledge of the methods and techniques of developing players and teams at various youth age levels
Current CORI certification
Travel is required 20% of the time to Middlesex County, Worcester County, and Norfolk County. Also, periodic travel is required throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire relating to the Strikers United youth club soccer team
Hours: This position will work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
