ABYS
is again pleased to offer kindergartners the opportunity
to participate in a developmentally appropriate soccer
program, designed by professional coaches.
Kinderkliniks consists of six one-hour
sessions as scheduled below. Our MLS Player
Development Officer (PDO) will introduce young players
to the fundamentals of soccer. Child-centered and
age-appropriate, this series of clinics will provide
unique interactive games that maximize everyone's
touches of the ball and makes learning soccer skills
FUN! There are no formal teams and there are no
practices.
At the beginning of each session, the
children will be organized into small groups of 8-10,
led by a coach. The PDO will demonstrate one or
two games or exercises to the entire group.
Then, under the coaches' supervision, the groups will
separate to play the games on their own small-sided
fields.
COACHES - This program depends on participation
by volunteer coaches. The role of the coach in
this program is to assist the MLS PDO in organizing the
various activities and in providing instruction in the
small group setting. To maintain consistency,
parents are encouraged to volunteer as a coach for the
same group each week. Parents interested in

register as a coach when you register your child for
Spring Soccer) and also contact the
Division Directors (see below). Coaches must also
complete the CORI form which can be found on this

print or email your CORI confirmation, please select
email option and copy yourself and Sue Reuther on your

HOW TO REGISTER:
Registration is easy. You can register on line via our
web site at http://www.abys.org. If you cannot register
online, you can download a form and register by mail,
please send the registration form (also available on our
website) with a check for $65 to:

OPEN ENROLLMENT: You may register at the field
during the first week. Please bring a registration form
with you, from the website, and please be 15 minutes
early if you haven't registered.
STUFF TO BRING: Either sneakers or soccer cleats are
fine. A #3 soccer ball (mark your child's name on it),
available at Legends or any number of other local
sporting goods stores, a water bottle and shin-guards.
No uniforms are required. Every youngster will receive a
T-shirt!
